Experience V.M. Sawh's acclaimed, subversive re-imagining of classic fairy tales, where the woods are treacherous, and the damsels carry blades.
In this striking multi-genre collection, Cinderella trades her glass slippers for a royal assassination plot, Snow White becomes a disabled samurai warrior seeking bloody honour in 16th-century Japan, and Red Riding Hood faces both a ravenous wolf and the horrors of Nazi-occupied France. From the gritty, train-robbing frontiers of a Wild West Pocahontas to the cold, alien expanse of a sizzling, sci-fi Hansel & Gretel, Good Tales for Bad Dreams: Vol 1 weaves a seamless tapestry of intense feminine rage and dark speculative horror. Strip bare your assumptions and discover an absorbing, boundary-pushing universe where classic folklore is reborn in the shadows.
